Email Settings
When setting up on an email client program there are a few different ways of communicating with the mail server. The two major ways to do this are called POP3 (Post Office Protocol) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol). The main difference between these types is that POP3 downloads your email to your local computer and IMAP gives you a "window" to view and edit messages that are currently stored on the server. Generally with DirectLink email we recommend using IMAP as it allows you to access your emails on many different devices.
These are the general server settings when setting up email as an IMAP account.
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
- Host name: mail.mydirectlink.net
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your password
- Server port: 993 (IMAP)
- SSL or Secure Connection: on
Outgoing Mail Server:
- Host name: mail.mydirectlink.net
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your password
- Server port: 587
- STARTTLS or Secure Connection: on
